The Calligraphy trim level is Hyundai’s near-luxury variant with the Black Ink model reflecting a formal, sophisticated feel inside and out, according to the company. The new version, which is produced at the Georgia plant, hits dealer lots this summer. Pricing information wasn’t revealed.

“The 2027 Ioniq 9 Calligraphy Black Ink stands as Hyundai’s most luxurious electric SUV to date, delivering class‑leading performance, show‑stopping design, and the highest expression of the brand’s design and technological capability,” said Olabisi Boyle, senior vice president, product planning and mobility strategy, Hyundai Motor North America.

The Calligraphy Black Ink enjoys a level of elegance not found on many Hyundai vehicles, starting with the Abyss Black Pearl paint. Designers gave a it curated suite of blacked out exterior elements resulting in a more refined look. Those elements include a black chrome front skid plate and rear garnish, gloss black roof rails, black window moldings, inner door handles and even the Hyundai emblem on the front is black.

Inside, the Black Ink edition comes outfitted with a black interior colorway and seating upholstery pattern, plus black interior aluminum trim and black steering wheel. Luxury often means high-end technology and this new model is no exception.

The cabin features a 10-inch Head-Up Display, 14-speaker Bose premium audio system, Full Display Digital Rearview Mirror (digital), Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2), Panoramic roof, Integrated front and rear dash cam, Vehicle‑to‑Load (V2L) functionality, and multiple 100-watt-capable USB‑C ports throughout all three rows, officials noted.

While you’ll get there in style, the 110.3-kWh battery and 800-volt architecture supporting 350-kW ultra-fast DC charging ensure you can go far and get there quickly. The combination develops 422 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque with a motor on each axle providing the all-wheel drive. The battery can go from 10 percent to 80 percent of charge in about 24 minutes, under ideal conditions and using the NACS infrastructure.
